Friday 21, 2026- Saturday

Today has been a beautiful day! We all worked outside in the morning. The girls and I planted some things in the garden beds, Calvin helped Michael trim the bushes, Benson and Evan cleaned out the van. The kids and I then went to Sister Taber's to do art. We first worked on our chalk art and then we started on acrylic paints. We painted rocks with daisy's on them and then used an acorn as a little ladybug on the rock/ flower. It was a fun little project.

Miracle of the day: As soon as I got home Jeanine called asking if I had the link for Sonja's funeral. I had completely forgotten about her funeral and Jeanine couldn't have called at a more perfect time. She really found it while we were on the phone and I was able to watch a good amount of the funeral. There were some powerful messages taught just as there often are at funerals. Sheila talked about the difficulty of Sonja's life and how she was able to press forward with faithfulness in the Savior.

After I listened to the funeral we had lunch together and then the girls and I went to the store, when we got back, I put in the dinner that Michael had made into the oven while him and the boys ran to the library. Maebryn wanted to watch The Happiest Millionaire so we started that while I finished making up a couple of the kids beds after cleaning their sheets and a few other things around the house.

Michael and I are now sitting at watching Stake Conference together on our big projector in our bedroom. The talks have been on being kind, seeing others, covenants and many others. The visiting authority talked about covenants being like a big rubber band...baptism the first covenant puts the band over your hands. (one hand representing you the other representing God) With just the one band it is easy to move away from the Lord and easy to get out, as you covenant in the temple you wrap the band twice making it more difficult to move away from the Lord and then as you are sealed in the temple it is like wrapping it around three times. You can still get out and move away from the Lord but it is more difficult.

Evan and Benson made scones with Michael's help for breakfast this morning. These boys really have gotten good at making a number of things. They now have the recipe for the sheet pancake almost memorized because they make it usually at least once a week. They have also made biscuits a number of times.
The girls helped me do some planting this morning. We bought a few strawberries that they planted.
