May 31, 2026- Sunday- Benson and My talk

Image
Miracles: I decided to go to the Hudson Oaks ward to hear some of Ashley's farewell talk and to see Frances but the Spanish family just happened to come this week. I got to hold her little baby and visit with her which was just what I needed and I think was also helpful for her. I didn't get to talk to Frances but I saw her and messaged her saying I saw her. She responded by thanking me for supporting her through the hard time of her life with her husband being sick. I also got to visit with the Scotts and say hello to Elaine. Then at church Benson spoke and did a great job. We then sang Hymn #227 which is one of my favorites then I got to speak and as I did one of the mom's of my students came in to listen. Afterwards she said of how much of a blessing I had been in her life.  My talk was all on how I had see God work miracles in my life this year and how works miracles in our live as we keep our covenants or keep our promises to Him. I told of how I had an impression fro...

Alden went and did First Monday today. It is something we have talked about him doing but Abby had mentioned that she did it and we asked if we could join her. It worked out great. He sold a few games and got some ideas on how to sell more.  Michael and I then worked on the sides of the slide. We are making progress so that is exciting. I then took Evan to a birthday party which went well. We then had art where everyone was very tired got home had an amazing dinner made by Michael of ribs and potato salad and then the kids went swimming and we got ready for bed. It was a nice day.

May 29, 2026- Friday and last day of school

School started at 9am we were to be there by 8:30 but we got there at 8am to help with the set up. I got things set up for the Kindergarten graduation and went around helping get things in order then helped run the trivia game. The day went by quickly and really I think things went fairly well...it was a little chaotic but I think that was expected with everyone following a new schedule. After the day was done we went to Rosa's Cafe to celebrate as a family. It was neat to look at the things sent home in each class and realize all that my kids had done throughout the year.

May 28, 2026- Thursday (Last regular day of school)

In my class we played jeopardy and had chips with salsa, queso and guacamole. We also listened to Carlos the Spanish bear who sang a little song. (It's been in my classroom but hasn't had batteries, but I put in batteries and brought him for the last day.) Everything went really well and I was able to hand out most of my Spanish folders to students. After school I took Calvin to practice and then went and bought balloons for the graduation tomorrow.  One miracle of the day was I ended up needing to go to Michael's to get balloons and while there I went and looked at fabric, they had just the colors I had been looking for for the things outside.

Today I didn't have much of anything I had to do other than a couple of lessons which went well and were all in the afternoon. In the morning I helped the girls deep clean their room. It was nice because by the end of the day we were able to have their room clean! The papers, the projects and things just pile up throughout the year. I think I need to go through every room in the house like that at least each year. (probably should do it more but each year works.)  Calvin went and took the TSI, he passed everything really well but was one point off of passing the essay. Luckily he can go and just take the essay section at some point.  Michael and I went and signed on the property for the practice so we are land owners...sort of. Mostly it means we are now more in debt but it is definitely a blessing and once we have everything moved over it will be a huge blessing for us.

May 26, 2026- Tuesday

Today in my Spanish class we took the end of the year Spanish test. It was very similar to the test we took mid-year and the results we similar as well. Overall I think everyone did fairly well.  After school the little miracle was that I had gone running to pick up a package in the mail in the morning but it wasn't there but right as we were driving by the mailbox the mail lady was there making it easy for me to talk to her and get the package that someone had accidentally forgotten to give me the key for. It was a small thing but made things much easier for me that could have been more complicated.  We had people over to play during lessons and then I took Calvin to track practice where I rested and practiced for my talk. It was a great day.

May 25, 2026- Memorial Day Monday

It was nice to have this extra day off and not have anywhere we had to go. Michael and I took the younger four to the zoo. I am always amazed at all Benson and Evan know about all of the animals at the zoo. We spent about three hours there and got to see lots of animals. Baby tigers and baby chimps were some of the favorites. It was fun to have Michael there with us. After the zoo we had a little lunch and then Michael and I sat down to work on some things and buy our outdoor couches. I went swimming with the girls. Alden made some very yummy pizza for all of us to eat. Then Michael and I went to Home Depot to buy boards to build around the slide for our rock wall. I would say it was just about the perfect day...so much to be grateful for. Good kids doing good things, the finances to be able to have a day at the zoo, amazing creatures that God has created for us to learn from, the ability to do projects, and today especially we honor all of those who came before who made all of th...

Today I got to do the music time. It has been a little while so it was fun to be back up there again doing music. This picture shows the art that we did at Sister Taber's. I finished mine a little bit today and overall had a very low key kind of day. Started looking at the coming weeks. I have been so focused with school that I haven't even thought about the summer and all we can do.

Today was another beautiful day. Michael made biscuits in the morning. We had a nice family breakfast together and then I ran errands to the grocery store. Just after lunch all of the kids and I went to Sister Taber's to do art. Then not long after that Michael and I went to the temple while the kids waited outside, we just did initiatory so we weren't gone long. We then went to Fuller and Rachel's engagement party at this home in Dallas. It was amazing. Large beautiful art all over and statues...I found out later that many were comitioned by the owners. It was neat to see the detail and the love of art they obviously had.  At Sister Taber's the boys got this little gecko. They were super excited about it and have it in their zoo now.

Today was our last regular Friday school day. Sewing went well, the brock kids weren't here so there were less kids in class. During the first period with Maebryn, her and some other girls had fun playing dress up. It was fun to see them having such a good time together. After Friday school I went to Michael's office to clean it and then we went to Chipotle for lunch. We watched a Psyche together at night after going on a bike ride and jumping in the pool. It was a nice evening. We think we might be done with Psyche as it is starting to use the Lord's name in vain more often.  Miracle: Was that it was just such a beautiful day....temperature great, plants have been watered due to the rain, less people in sewing making it not as crazy, just a great day. Maebryn definitely is our little fashion girl. She will often try on multiple bows to see which one looks good or looks the best.
