January 30, 2026- Friday
Thursday everything melted by the end of the day....well not quite everything but almost everything on all of the roads. Our front lawn is totally melted but the duck enclosure is still a solid ice block with ice and snow everywhere. Today wasn't nearly as warm as yesterday, but it wasn't bad. I took the cats to Frances first thing in the morning. I have been trying to call her all week but her phone has gone straight to voicemail. I just prayed that I would either find her or Gene her neighbor. She wasn't home but I went over to where Gene's truck was and was going to go knock on the trailer door but Terry came out right away to talk to me which was really nice. She was very helpful in making it where I had a plan for the cats. Frances has told me a little about her but seemed to try not to tell too much because she didn't want to gossip, Terry told me about Frances while I was just with her and it was another testament that there is always more than one story. I could see a lot of truth in what Terry said and truth in what Frances has told me both just have a different perspective. It is good as we take in many, many stories. Frances came right as we were finishing unloading the cats which was perfect, it was like God stepped in making it where I was able to feel complete in that assignment.
Today I also had time to listen to the ancient's podcast. Something I have loved about this podcast is all of the stories from all over the world that she brings in and even classic literature. She takes in so many different stories bringing so much meaning and perspective into the simple truths that I know. There is danger in a single story, it's almost always best to listen to many points and perspectives.
After taking the cats I ran a couple of errands to get things all set up for the ducks. Then came back home where I deep cleaned the van. It has smelled of cats since we have had them in there to transport.
