My Journal

 School was good. We went over verb conjugation. The only thing that was too bad was my keyboard all of a sudden stopped working but I guess it is a common thing with these computers so Michael got me a new keyboard. My scholars group went and sang Happy Birthday to one of the preschoolers. It was stormy so Calvin's track was cancelled.  

 Today was a great day. In the morning I taught Benson his lesson and then I deep cleaned my shower and bathroom. It looks amazing and feels so nice to have it all clean. I also cleaned up quite a bit in our room. I am almost to the point of where I feel it is to where I want it..so close. I also got the kids math graded and went over, all except Calvin that is. We then went to the nursing home where we had a mini piano recital with the Hunts. Their great grandma was there and it was a nice little recital. Afterwards we ran a couple of errands, I started getting the fence up for the ducks...but they still got through so we are going to have to have it go further. I also got a nice dinner made. Chicken potato soup with croissant rolls.  In the evening I read with Maebryn and then went to the church where Michael and I got to see Benson, Calvin, and Alden set apart into their respective presidencies. Benson is 1st or 2nd counselor, Calvin Teacher President, Alden is an assistant...

 In my Spanish class we learned a little bit about how and where Spanish is spoken in the United States. After school we had the Chambers and the Jones over to play and I took Calvin to track. It was a great day. One of the miracles of the day was... there are always a couple of classes in any given day that take just a little more effort in the discipline area, I was planning and prepping for those two classes but yet one of the ones that makes it a little more difficult in each of the classes had to be out for one reason or another. This has happened multiple times throughout the year, I have been amazed as soon as I start thinking I am not sure how I am going to handle this situation, the situation is taken away from me. God truly fights our battles for us.

 The Astons came and played for the day while their mom went to get some treatments to boost her immune system. I had them build a couple of rocking chairs before they played game time. It was a nice low key kind of day as we only had a couple of lessons. (Even though I teach all my kids their lessons so that takes some time but I enjoy it.)

 This was our first Sunday with the new bishopric. Everything was fairly normal Sunday, the only thing different was that we had seminary graduation in the afternoon. After the graduation we had a zoom meeting with Providence Hill. There have been a number of teachers either leaving or changing for one reason or another so it was about that. I worked on cleaning out my nightstand. I can't keep all of the cards and pictures that my girls make for me because I would have books and books of them but I tried to keep a few of them. The picture is of all of us sitting down to dinner together. I love that we have been able o have lots of family dinners as of late. I will miss having all six of them at the table in a couple of years and feel I really need to soak in these moments. Right now I often read to them while they eat dinner we are reading grandpa's book about the English revolution.

 In the morning I took Calvin to track and then went to a baby shower. Benson and Evan had their last basketball game of the season. It sounds as though it was a rough game as they were short players. When they got back we went to sister Taber's to do art. We are getting close to finishing our paintings of hydrangeas. We had a low key evening and watched a couple psyche episodes. I think we are getting close to being done watching it. We've seen this snake a couple of times and decided it was time for him to go. He slithered right past me as I was cleaning up in the duck area and went under the coop. I couldn't get him so went on with the day, the duck had been sitting on her next in the coop so when I saw the duck out I went to go check it out and sure enough the snake was trying to eat the eggs. I grabbed Calvin to come kill it but he wasn't having success so I tried and was at least able to pin the snake with a shovel and then Calvin worked on killing it with another...

 It was an overcast day and there weren't as many at Friday school which made for a more laid back kind of day. I had enough time to start sorting some of the sewing things. After I got a few things done at home and then for date night Michael and I went outdoor furniture shopping and ended up buying food for the ducks and salt for the water softener. It was a good day. We ended it by watching a couple episodes of psyche.
